There’s a flower bed outside my window

2022, 23 x 25” (including frame), Mixed media on a recycled print

I created this piece on a generic home decor frame that I thrifted for $1.99 at a small-town thrift store. The frame still had its original Walmart price tag on the back. The texture of the piece was achieved by wetting the original print’s cardboard and dispersing the pilled paper particles with a paintbrush. The texture of this piece is my favorite thing about it. It inspired me to create a whole series of recycled pieces by reviving abandoned mass-produced prints. 'There’s a flower bed outside my window' is available for sale upon request.
